Maple Story DS

MapleStory, the delightful MMORPG is coming to the Nintendo DS. We kid you not. While a Western release has yet to be confirmed, the mere though of playing an import sends a shudder down every DS owners spine.

The game is set for release in Korea and Japan at a date yet to be announced. The game is rumoured to be compatible with PC players, and only playable via wireless internet.

Wireless Nunchuk So Not Happening

Sunday, January 7th, 2007

What is like your verdict?

A *hic* reporter at Verdicts.co.uk claims that ‘An unconfirmed source has revealed that Nintendo are currently working on a wireless version of their Nunchuck attachment for the Wii remote.

Nintendo may have a few issues with the Wii, but for the most part, they analyzed the Wii and removed safety hazards. A second wireless controller? The mere thought of it screams, “LAWSUIT! LAWSUIT!” Without a doubt, the Nunchuk would be much easier to throw than the Wiimote.

The only feasible way Nintendo could release a wireless Nunchuk would be to tether the Nunchuk to the players hands. Impracticality is a console-killer.

Something ‘big’ heading to Virtual Console

Tuesday, December 5th, 2006

Trademark this.

GamesTM believe that there will be an exciting Virtual Console release soon.
Something big is coming to the Virtual Console, something that, for the past decade, certain corners of the retro community have been crying out for. I wish I could say more, but the uncertainties of publishing schedules prevents me from spilling the beans too early. Nevertheless, if what we’ve heard turns out to be true, the virtual console is about to become a lot more interesting and looks like it might turn out to be much more valuable to dedicated retro gamers than we first thought.

What could it be?

Alternative Nunchuk

Confirmed as rumour

Go Next are reporting that BigBen Interactive are releasing an alternate Nunchuk controller for the Nintendo Wii.

Notable features include the on/off switch, the lack of obvious connection to the Wiimote, as well as the colour and Analog stick being replaced with a ‘D-pad’.

Until we recieve official confirmation from Big Ben in the form of a press statement, listing on their website or a response to our email queries, we will treat this story as a rumour.

Nunchuk Rumble Rumour Resurfaces

Saturday, October 28th, 2006

It's back!

The evil, hair raising Nunchuk rumble rumour has resurfaced. Over at NeoGAF, a poster reads ‘EDGE’ magazine which reported…

‘because it does not require batteries, the Nunchuk feels unusually light in operation, although the inclusion of a rumble facility ensures that it has a tactile quality.’

And then a quote from the reputable GamesMaster

‘this level of immersion goes beyond just controller movement. Both the Wii remote and nunchuk attachment have their own rumble function, so there’s feedback in both your hands while you battle.’

Could the Nunchuk make an appearance, Less that three weeks before release date? Never afraid to eat my own hat, I’ll say no.
