Representatives have relelased a press statement regarding the future of e3.

It is no longer necessary or efficient to have a single industry ‘mega-show.’ By refocusing on a highly-targeted event, we think we can do a better job serving our members and the industry as a whole, and our members are energized about creating this new E3.

Alas, the days of e3 being the vast towering monolith are over. e3 is now officially to become ‘quaint’ under the guise of being ‘focused’. Ah well, with console specific trade shows become increasingly common, we always knew this was to happen.
