Wii with DVD for Japan

‘Nintendo has confirmed to GamesIndustry.biz that there are plans to launch a new version of the Wii featuring DVD playback functionality in Japan.’

Game Industry has also confirmed that the Wii with DVD playback is a Japan only release. The article also mentions the CNN Wii news channel, but nothing more is revealed.
